Icelandair has received its first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, which will join the airline’s fleet of Boeing 757 and 767 jets serving destinations throughout North America and Europe.

In 2013, Icelandair placed an order for 16 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, including the MAX 8 and larger MAX 9 models. Both airplanes provide airlines with lower seat-mile costs and more range (up to 6,510 kilometers) to open new routes profitably.

Icelandair offers three flights per week from Vancouver to Reykjavik, Iceland. The airline connects 26 gateways in Europe from Reykjavik-Keflavik hub.
