Abbotsford Airshow

The Abbotsford International Airshow will feature several talented female role models in aviation and aerospace. It will highlight female participation both in the air and on the ground. Airshow goers can expect feature performances from world-class aviators, including Major Kristin Wolfe, commander and pilot of the United States Air Force F-35 Lightning II Demonstration Team; Lieutenant Brianna Bilunas, Electronic Warfare Officer with the United States Navy E/A-18 Growler Demonstration Team; unlimited world aerobatic competitor Melissa Burns; and Vera Martinovich, B-25 Mitchell warbird pilot. On the ground, young women and girls can expect specialized aviation-themed exhibits, education and activities, and a significant representation by women across visiting static aircraft crews from Canada, the United States and beyond in military and civilian roles. Flight displays from the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, US Air Force F-35 Lightning, US Navy Growler, RCAF Hornet, Canadian Forces Skyhawks, and many more aircraft. YVR for Kids

This year marks the 32nd year the airport community will come together to help support local children’s charities. Clear Skies Children’s Foundation presents the annual YVR for Kids Gala and Golf Tournament. Now in its 31st year, it has become the preeminent and much-loved airport celebration of the year. Through partnerships with the YVR, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice and many other key sponsors, YVR for Kids brings together more than 350 guests for a Gala Dinner and Auction and the Sheraton Vancouver Airport, followed by an afternoon of golf at Quilchena Golf & Country Club. YVR Pancake Breakfast

Leave home a little earlier, or come by on a break—bring a friend, colleague or family (and your appetite) to Templeton Station for breakfast between 7 am and 11 am, all for a great cause. Our chefs, YVR Fire & Rescue Team, are excited to get cooking and will not disappoint! The airport’s newest firetruck will also be onsite for you to check out. All proceeds from the event will go towards BC Professional Firefighters Burn Fund, which provides life-saving, life-supporting and life-enriching services to burn survivors while also providing community support, research and prevention programs.
