The Sky’s No Limit—Girls Fly Too!

Abbotsford International Airport, Abbotsford, BC

World’s largest aviation, aerospace, Marine & Defence diversity outreach event. Completely free for everyone, thanks to the generous support of agency, industry, education and other community partners. (girlsfly2.ca). This Canadian signature annual event showcases an unprecedented international partnership between Canada and the United States toward improving gender and cultural diversity in high-tech STEM fields. The Canadian and U.S. Coast Guard, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Municipal Police Forces, local and international Search and Rescue Organizations, first responders, civilian companies, educational institutions, and the United States and Canadian Armed Forces are all invited to participate and showcase the various aspects of Aviation, Aerospace, Marine and Defence. The combined represented assets of these agencies totalled more than a billion dollars in 2022.

The event is organized by the Achieve Anything Foundation—a federally incorporated not-for-profit organization with a mission to inspire future female leaders from the shop floor to the top floor in high-tech STEM fields using a hands-on approach. British Columbia Aviation Council Silver Wings Industry & Scholarship Celebration

Vancouver Trade & Convention Centre West, 3rd floor, 1055 Canada Place, Vancouver, BC

At its annual Silver Wings Awards gala celebration, the B.C. Aviation Council (BCAC) recognizes industry colleagues for specific achievements within the province’s aviation and aerospace industry. The BCAC also awards more than $70,000 in annual scholarships to students that have made aviation and aerospace their career choice. The evening includes an awards ceremony, fine food, entertainment, an online auction, a high-end travel raffle, a 50/50 draw, and superb networking opportunities.

From 16:45 – 17:45, there is a reception for Women in Aviation and Aerospace hosted by the BCAC’s Chair, Heather McCarley (Vantage Airport Group), and vice-chair, Cathy Press (Chinook Helicopters).
