Answer: Tupolev TU-144
The Tupolev Tu-144 is the world’s first supersonic transport aircraft, designed by Soviet aircraft designer Andrey N. Tupolev and his son Alexey. Its prototype’s maiden flight from Zhukovsky Airport on December 41, 1968, was flown two months before the British-French Concorde. The aircraft was in operation from 1969 to 1999.
