Air Canada will launch new non‑stop service from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Sapporo‑Chitose (CTS) in December 2026, giving travellers direct access to Japan’s Hokkaido prefecture. The region is known for world‑class winter sports, the Sapporo Snow Festival, natural hot springs, and celebrated regional cuisine.
The new route expands Air Canada’s international network and makes the airline the carrier with the most non‑stop destinations from the North American mainland to Japan.
Flights will operate three times weekly from December 2026 through March 2027 on Air Canada’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with Signature Class, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins.
This winter service to Sapporo complements Air Canada’s year‑round flights to Tokyo–Narita and Tokyo–Haneda, as well as its summer seasonal service to Osaka–Kansai.
Air Canada continues to enhance its onboard experience with dishes by Michelin‑starred Chef Masaki Hashimoto, featured in the Signature Class menu on all flights between Canada and Japan.
For travellers heading to Hokkaido’s ski regions, ski bags and equipment are included as part of the airline’s regular checked baggage allowance on international flights.
Seats for the new Vancouver–Sapporo service are now available at aircanada.com, through travel agents, and via Air Canada Contact Centres.
